E-Waste & Plastic Collection

How do we carry out this process ?

Our process for managing electronic waste and plastic waste is meticulously designed to tackle these environmental challenges effectively and responsibly. Beginning with the establishment of collection points for both e-waste and plastic waste, we ensure convenient accessibility for individuals and businesses alike. Upon collection, rigorous segregation based on material type and condition precedes eco-friendly transportation to our designated processing facilities. Here, advanced recycling technologies dismantle electronic devices to extract valuable components, while plastic waste undergoes sorting, cleaning, and processing into reusable materials or responsible disposal. Special attention is given to hazardous materials, adhering to strict safety protocols and partnering with certified disposal entities. Continuous monitoring, evaluation, and collaboration with stakeholders further enhance the effectiveness of our initiatives, as we strive towards a cleaner, healthier planet for present and future generations.

About E-Yantran

At Poornam Ecovision Foundation, we are deeply committed to addressing the pressing issues of electronic waste (e-waste) and plastic waste with a multifaceted and forward-thinking approach. Both e-waste, which encompasses discarded electronic devices such as computers, smartphones, and household appliances, and plastic waste pose significant environmental and health risks due to the hazardous substances they contain. Recognizing the urgent need for effective management, our initiatives are designed to manage these types of waste responsibly while fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainable living.

DTDC : Door-To-Door Collection Program

The Door-to-Door Collection program for e-waste in Pune is a thoughtful initiative by the Poornam Ecovision Foundation to address the growing concern of electronic waste management in the city. This program is designed to make the e-waste disposal process convenient and accessible to the community, ensuring proper handling and disposal of electronic devices. Key features include educational campaigns to inform residents and businesses about proper e-waste disposal, emphasising the environmental hazards and recycling benefits. Collection schedules are announced in advance, allowing residents to prepare and segregate their e-waste. Designated area coordinators visit collection areas to collect e-waste on scheduled days, ensuring transparency through documentation and tracking. Collected items are recorded by quantity and type, and then transported to authorised facilities for recycling or disposal. The program also includes feedback mechanisms to gather input for continuous improvement, and donors receive online certificates acknowledging their contributions.
