Central Government & State Government are cordially running a campaign called ‘Swachhotsav 2023’ from 7th March to 30th March 2023. Swachhata Yatra is being implemented as a part of this campaign to highlight women’s contribution and leadership in the field of sanitation. As a part of Swachhata Yatra 12 women leading as Swachhata Doot and 2 women coordinators from Goa have come to Pune city to visit various initiatives taking place in the field of waste management & women empowerment.
These women officials along with Assistant Health Officer at Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Dr. Ketki Ghatge and Sanitary Inspector at Sinhagad Road Ward Office Mrs. Priyanjali Pawar visited an organization named Poornam Ecovision Foundation working in the field of Solid Waste Management and Women Empowerment. Visit was organized on 25th March in the afternoon at 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Chief Executive Officer of the organization Dr. Rajesh Manerikar explained briefly about the projects run through the organization. During the talk Door to Door E-waste collection project running in association with PMC and Adar Poonawalla Clean City Initiative and other project named Fabric up-cycling were explained in detail. Guests saw stitching unit at the office premises and talked with women working for manufacturing of up-cycled fabric products from old clothes. Operation manager at Poornam Mrs. Snehal Waghole explained about each of the products and showed all the products being manufactured in the organization.
